Dianne Rodríguez Zambrano,  29 años, se define como “trans femenina”. Activista y presidenta de Fundación Silueta X, entidad que vela por los derechos y el bienestar de la comunidad.

-Claro que hay, lamentablemente esto es un proceso que se viene dando de generación en generación; nuestros padres transmiten toda esta información del  sistema y obviamente nosotros la absorbemos mientras no haya un momento coyuntural en donde tal vez a través de las nuevas políticas y leyes que puedan desarrollarse en otros aspectos donde el contexto ecuatoriano pueda cambiar, mientras tanto así no; por ejemplo en este momento tenemos una constitución garantista, están los derechos humanos, está la identidad de género, cosa que no hay reconocida ni siquiera en Argentina, pero si nos damos cuenta  del contexto ecuatoriano en relación al argentino, el ecuatoriano tiene muchos mas derechos promulgados dentro de la constitución, sin embargo en Argentina están muchos mas avanzados en derechos humanos en relación a la diversidad sexual, cosa que aquí no sucede, en Ecuador se maneja en base a leyes pequeñas o sea alternas, nosotros en la constitución tenemos una ley suprema pero no es aplicada a las instituciones, a la educación, al empleo, en la salud, ni en ningún lado donde el ciudadano común está inmerso. Puede que la gente diga no, es tu percepción, sin embargo no es así, la realidad es otra, para ponerte un ejemplo: Tania, una amiga mía de 23 años a quien por muchos años le he venido insistiendo que retome sus estudios, y no lo hacía pero ahora que decidió retomarlos va a un colegio y el rector le dice que si quiere estudiar debe ir vestida de hombre… apenas me lo contó fuimos a poner la queja legal.  Ahora ella está estudiando pero lamentablemente hay que denunciar, así se manejan las cosas, lo que le pasó a ella es lo que sufrimos todas las personas de la diversidad sexual. Si a mí me pasara lo mismo, si recibiera un rechazo similar yo no regresaría mas… es mas, a mis sueños de estudiar los abandono.

Lo mismo pasa en salud, el empleo y en otros ámbitos, mientras tanto esa ley que está allá arriba yo la veo volando pero no  aterrizando y  acá abajo las cosas van a seguir iguales. Hay  muchas cosas deprimentes que ocurren a diario.

La iglesia, qué tiene que hablar la iglesia en relación a la diversidad sexual?…  es algo absurdo si tenemos una constitución laica, un estado laico y tampoco estamos con la cultura musulmana, ni con la religión islámica… claro, se respetan las creencias y yo respeto a los Testigos de Jehová, a los católicos, a los evangélicos, pero no puede ser posible que a raíz de una creencia religiosa voy a obligar a los demás a pensar como yo pienso. Por ejemplo, entre los testigos de Jehová,  las transfusiones de sangre no son permitidas pero  si esa fuera mi religión y creyera cualquier cosa, perfecto, pero yo no tendría derecho a invadir el derecho de otras persona que no piensan así. Indiscutiblemente existe temor porque estamos influenciados por el sistema, por la iglesia, por nuestros padres, lo que obviamente a medida que pasan los años ese temor puede transformarse en homofobia, o en una transfobia.- Quién eres tú, podrías definirte?

Me considero una persona peleona, exigente conmigo misma y con las personas que me rodean. Y como soy ecuatoriana también soy exigente con los responsables de establecer las leyes y los alcances de esas leyes y no doy lugar a que cada quien haga lo que se le antoje.

En el 2008 después que la constitución incluyó la identidad de género yo fui a hacer uso de ese derecho, fui al Registro Civil a que me cambien los nombres de masculino a femenino y me dijeron que no… lo mismo que está pasando ahora con una compañera. Así que les puse una queja legal.

Ahora cualquiera que se sienta mujer habiendo nacido hombre,  puede ir a exigir el cambio normalmente, hoy estamos haciendo lo mismo con el cambio de sexo, pero es mas complicado.

Yo soy transexual y no voy a reasignarme sexualmente así tenga los $16.000 para la operación que me exige el Registro Civil. Es inusual porque me pide que yo para cambiar mi documento de identidad debo tener un certificado del médico donde diga que he sido reasignada sexualmente lo cual resulta irrisorio  porque aquí en Ecuador ninguna «trans» tiene ese dinero. Si yo tengo los $16.000 y me opero pero qué pasa con las compañeras que no tienen ese dinero, están supeditadas a la situación del dinero que el estado nos está exigiendo a través del Registro Civil… qué cosa más que absurda.

Yo necesito ser tomada en cuenta como mujer, ya que mi novio trabaja en una empresa desde hace 3 años y yo no puedo acceder a beneficios sociales porque no estoy casada legalmente con él.  La gente se confunde y se opone porque piensa que nosotros queremos casarnos e ir a la iglesia, la gente está tan identificada con la iglesia que relaciona sus creencias con lo legal y  piensan que en nuestros matrimonios tendrán que ser también por la iglesia… de hecho están desubicados totalmente. Lo que nosotros queremos es el reconocimiento legal de que estamos casados y reconozcan los derechos que eso conlleva.

Me defino como mujer, socialmente soy una mujer y necesito que me reconozcan como tal, quiero adoptar para tener hijos pero no puedo porque el estado no me lo permite, habiendo tantos niños sufriendo psicológicamente en los diferentes orfanatos, niños que no tienen un hogar y nosotras no podamos acceder a la adopción pudiendo ofrecerle todo el amor necesario a esa criatura. Estudio Psicología, me preparo para poder educarlo bien, pero eso no lo toman en cuenta, la gente y sus prejuicios creen que si una trans lo cría, se va hacer homosexual , acaso que mis padres son homosexuales?… o que de mi hogar vienen los homosexuales… Es absurdo, ilógico puesto que no tienen ningún argumento científico valedero para asegurar esa estupidez.

– Has pensado en escribir tu historia?

– Si, pero realmente no tengo tiempo.– De que maneras vives el rechazo de cierta parte de la sociedad?

– Ya estoy acostumbrada hasta cierto punto, aunque tú no creas uno vive la discriminación todos los días cuando voy de compras la gente me queda viendo de pies a cabeza tratando de identificar que soy, se fijan en mis senos operados, y luego mi entrepierna a ver si ven un bulto y finalmente concluyen que no soy mujer. La gente es tan hipócrita en Ecuador que te cogen y te crucifican en segundos… ya estoy acostumbrada
A veces al parar un taxi, escuchan mi voz y arrancan sin decirme nada… a todo esto estoy acostumbrada, pero algo que no voy a permitir y no me voy acostumbrar es a que la iglesia se entrometa en mis decisiones.

Una vez aprobadas las leyes no permitiré que nadie en algún lugar no me deje entrar, me lo tienen que permitir porque yo soy parte de esta sociedad…– Te representó algún problema aceptar tu sexualidad o el compartirla con alguien?

– Inicialmente si, y por eso pasamos todas porque obviamente el sistema te dice que no debe de ser así, tú eres hombre y como hombre te tienen que gustar las mujeres, eso te crea un conflicto depresivo.– Cómo cambia tu vida cuando te independizas aceptando ser quien realmente eres?

– Cuando tenía 16 años con mi familia viví  situaciones horribles, me botaron de la casa, estuve fuera durante un mes en el que me vi obligada hacer trabajo sexual para mantenerme, admiro mucho a las compañeras que lo hacen porque es algo tenaz, luego mi mamá me encontró y me reincorporó al hogar, con algunas condiciones como que no cambie, si tú quieres, hasta gay puedes ser, pero vístete como hombre y has todo lo demás a escondidas, que la sociedad, el vecino ni nadie lo sepa. Me pasaron por cuatro religiones, por eso es que de religiones estoy harta y no quiero saber nada, no necesito que nadie me venga a decir cómo y qué tengo que creer.

Hasta los 21 o 22 años hice feliz a mi familia, a la iglesia y a la sociedad… luego dije ya  BASTA! y cogí y me empecé a hormonar, me botaron de la empresa y luego pasé a un hotel, donde también me botaron y también les puse una queja legal por discriminación, donde no llegué a nada… así que me independicé, conocí a mi novio y ahora vivo con él desde hace ya 4 años.– Conoces historias de amigos que la han pasado peor que tú?

– Claro… tengo amigas que las botan definitivamente de la casa, ya no pueden regresar se dedican al trabajo sexual, se hacen drogadictas y por ese tipo de vida es que tienen enfermedades venéreas o el VIH. Hay casos… y casos terribles.– La infidelidad y las relaciones ocasionales, poco duraderas, son frecuente entre gays?

– Claro, entre gays, trans… debido justamente  a la inestabilidad del sistema puesto que si el sistema me está recriminando que yo no puedo tener una relación estable inconscientemente me concientiza que la construcción de familia es mamá, papá y como yo soy «papá, papá» desde ya acepto que mi relación no va a ser exitosa e inconscientemente me estoy prejuiciando y no voy a poner empeño en mantener mi relación…

Una amiga estuvo 5 años esperando a que su pareja venga desde España siéndole fiel, porque estuvo haciendo los trámites para llevársela pero no pudo… actualmente él está en Chile, llevan 7 años separados pero se llevan súper bien, a la distancia igual se siguen amando.– Hay espacios para hacer conocer la cultura GLBT?

– No hay espacios culturales por lo menos aquí en Guayaquil no, en Quito son mas cultos que nosotros. Aquí en Guayaquil nos atraen mas las fiestas que la cultura.

– Una identificación política, una curul en la asamblea, una candidatura gay son metas estimadas en la GLBT?

El grupo GLBT en Ecuador aspira a eso, tenemos una Ministra que es lesbiana pero no es suficiente, creemos que ella se encuentra marginada y hasta cierto punto está sola, creemos nosotros porque nos reunimos con bastantes grupos en los que ella podría hacer mucho mas desde donde está, pero pensamos que no quiere dar entender a la sociedad que porque es lesbiana se dedica al trabajo de la diversidad sexual sino a ser un poco mas diversificada si vale el calificativo, muchas de las personas de la diversidad deben aspirar llegar al poder, yo aspiro llegar a la Asamblea, sin mentir y sin nada, a los movimientos políticos donde me he acercado les he dicho de frente, yo vengo aquí a militar para que me pongan en una candidatura, soy frontal sin rodeos, no como otras personas que se las arreglan muy bien para alcanzar sus aspiraciones.. Si me ponen en una candidatura donde yo voy a ganar y créanme que yo voy a dar lo mejor de mi.– Hay medios que no han sido usados para difundir la realidad y el pensamiento gay nacional, como el cine documental por ejemplo, charlas, conferencias, teatro… por qué?

– Porque lamentablemente aquí en Guayaquil la gente no aprecia las películas filmadas por autores ecuatorianos como en Quito, donde entiendo que se hacen y pasan documentales y la gente asiste

Aquí en el MACC donde pueden entrar cerca de 150 personas, apenas llegan unos 50.– Organizarse tiene como meta el sólo saber cuántos son o hay mas ambiciones (en el buen sentido de la palabra) sociales y económicas?

– Nosotros aspiramos a tener el mismo derecho que todos, no pedimos derechos extras, el derecho a tener una familia y que el estado me reconozca como una ciudadana y estoy pidiendo que dejen estudiar a las personas con identidad de género, para poder trabajar con dignidad. No aspiramos hacer una ciudad de GLBT, mas bien aspiramos a ser parte de la sociedad y de ese grupo objetivo en el cual no se nos permite formar parte.

– Qué porcentaje de gays que permanecen en el closet estimas que aún existen?

– Hay gente de televisión que veo todos los días que son de la diversidad sexual, tanto mujeres lésbicas como hombres gays, es increíblemente grande.

El INEC está planteando hacer un estudio de GLBT trabajando con las organizaciones de la sociedad civil, creo que en junio nos invitaron al Hotel Ramada y nos plantearon la propuesta, ellos desean hacer un estudio estadístico de lo que es la diversidad de género… me alegra mucho porque creo que seríamos el primer país que hace un estudio a nivel del estado.

El INEC a través de Byron Villacis que nos invitó y nos comunicó esperamos a que sea una realidad porque no hay nada, por lo menos aqui en Ecuador no sabemos nada sobre este tema.

Internacionalmente dicen que por cada 10 personas 3 son de la diversidad sexual a nivel mundial, lo que es sin lugar a dudas, una cantidad altísima.– Tienes fe en un futuro sin segregaciones?

– Sí claro, es mas, todavía estamos luchando por los afrodescendientes, y me incluyo porque mi novio es afrodescendiente y por ejemplo nos alegramos cuando vamos al Banco donde hay una señorita cajera que es afro trabajando ahí, en servicio al cliente porque no solo hay blancas de ojos verdes o con lentes de contacto.– Un mensaje a la población heterosexual del país que aparentemente son mayoría y que tienen el poder político hasta hoy?

– Nada es eterno en el mundo, la mujer que en este momento no pudiera trabajar seguiría siendo la esclava doméstica de un hombre… como todavía hay casos pero, en este momento la mujer sí puede votar, puede hacer uso de sus derechos, puede estudiar, trabajar, puede ser independiente y ya no tiene que vivir a las costillas de un hombre, puede cambiar las cosas porque son mayoría. – There is fear of sexual repression, internalized homophobia experienced by young people who have grown up in a macho culture, patriarchal and heterosexist?

-Of course there are, unfortunately this is a process that is taking place from generation to generation, our parents pass on this information the system and obviously we absorb it until there is a cyclical moment where perhaps through new policies and laws that may develop in other areas where the Ecuadorian context may change, as well as not, for example we now have a constitution guarantees, are human rights, is gender identity, which is not recognized even in Argentina, but if we realize the Ecuadorian context in relation to Argentina, Ecuador’s has many more rights enshrined in the constitution, but in Argentina are many more advanced in human rights in relation to sexual diversity, which does not happen here in Ecuador handled based on laws or alternate small, we have a constitution in the supreme law but is not applied to the institutions, education, employment, health, or anywhere where the common citizen is involved. – Who are you, you could define yourself?

I consider myself a feisty, demanding with myself and people around me. And I am also demanding Ecuadorian responsible for establishing the laws and the scope of these laws and do not give rise to each one do what he pleases.

People get confused and opposed because they think we want to get married and go to church, people are so identified with the church that relates to the legal beliefs and think that our marriages will be by the church … in fact they are totally misplaced. What we want is the legal recognition that we are married and recognize the rights that entails.

I define myself as a woman, socially I’m a woman and I need to recognize as such, I take to have children but I can not because the state will not let me, having so many children suffer psychologically in different orphanages, children who are homeless and we can not access the adoption can offer you all the love needed to that creature. Study Psychology, I prepare to educate them well, but that does not take into account people and their prejudices believe that if a trans him up, he goes to gay, perhaps my parents are gay? … or in my home are gay … It’s absurd, illogical since they have no valid scientific argument to ensure that stupidity.

 – Have you thought about writing your story?

– Yes, but really I have no time.

– In what ways do you live the rejection of a certain part of society?

– How to change your life when you accept independizas be who you really are?

– When I was 16 my family lived in horrible situations, they threw me out of the house, I was out for a month in which I was forced to do sex work to support me, I admire the mates they do because it’s tough, then my Mom found me and rejoined the household, under certain conditions as not to change, if you want to you can be gay, but you dress like a man and everything else on the sly, that society, neighbor or anyone knowing. I went through four religions, that’s why I’m sick of religion and I do not know anything, do not need anyone to tell me how come and what I have to believe.

To 21 or 22 years I happy with my family, church and society … and then I said ENOUGH! and picked up and started to hormonar, kicked me out of the company and then went to a hotel, where he threw me and I put a legal complaint of discrimination, where I got nothing … so I went solo, I met my boyfriend and I live with him for 4 years now.

– You know stories of friends who have been worse than you?

– Sure … I have friends that definitely bounce house, and can not return engaged in sex work, drug addicts and are made for that kind of life is that they have an STD or HIV. There are cases … and terrible cases.

– Infidelity and casual, short-lived, are common among gay?

– No cultural spaces at least here in Guayaquil, Quito are more educated than us. Here in Guayaquil we attract more parties that culture.

 – A political identification, a seat in the assembly, a candidate is gay goals estimated in the GLBT?

The group aims to GLBT in Ecuador that we have a Minister who is a lesbian but not sufficient, we believe that it is marginalized and somewhat alone, believe us because we met with many groups in which she could do much more from where it is, but we do not want to understand the society that it is dedicated to lesbian sexual diversity work but to be a little more diversified if it the label, many of the people of diversity should aspire to come to power, I aspire to reach the Assembly, without lying and without anything, the political movements which have approached me I said from the front, I come here to military being put in an application, front bluntly am not like other people they manage very well to achieve their aspirations .. If I put in an application where I’m going to win and believe me I’ll give it my best.

The INEC is considering making a study of GLBT working with civil society organizations, I think in June we were invited to the Ramada Hotel and we raised the proposal, they want to do a statistical study of what is gender diversity … I am delighted because I think it would be the first country to make a statewide study.

The INEC through Byron Villacis who invited us and told us we hope to make it a reality because there is nothing, at least here in Ecuador we know nothing about this.

– A message to the heterosexual population of the country that apparently the majority and have political power today?

– Nothing is eternal in the world, the woman who at this time unable to work would remain the domestic slave of a man … as there are still cases but now women can vote yes, you can use your rights, you can study, work, can be independent and no longer has to live in the ribs of a man can change things because they are most .
